I booked my session as a way to challenge myself to step out from behind the camera and feel confident about having my picture taken. I have been doing photography for about 9 years now and hiding behind the camera, aside of being in front of the lens, has always been comforting to me. Until I had my photoshoot done, I have never felt beautiful in any photos taken of me. My goal for the shoot was to make myself feel as beautiful as my fiance says I am (plus it’s a sexy engagement and wedding present for him too)!
When I booked my session, I was feeling a bit nervous, but very excited. Having a boudoir photo shoot is something that I have always wanted to do but I never had the guts to go ahead and do it. After becoming engaged that was the push that I needed, I just convinced myself that it was more for my fiance which made it way easier. But I definitely think the photo shoot ended up being more for myself rather than a gift for my fiance.
I enjoyed the whole experience from start to finish! On the drive to the studio I was a little nervous, but after listening to a bunch of my favorite music, I got into the zone and ready to face this challenge head on. From the minute Stephanie opened the door she was a total sweetheart! As soon as she introduced herself and brought me into the studio with fun music playing and the home-like atmosphere, I was instantly comfortable. The way she coached me when I was posing was very encouraging and made it so easy for me, it just felt so natural. Once we sat down to pick the images for my photo album, it was just so difficult because I loved them all!
My favorite part of the shoot was sitting down with Stephanie and revealing the images afterwards. When she showed me the images I was in shock and couldn’t believe that the woman I was staring at on the computer screen was me. Now that I have done my session, my confidence has been restored and I feel beautiful in my own skin.
